Project Overview
A company has a product that keeps track of all subscription fees on websites, apps, services, etc. over the years. This company has launched a desktop-only website and now needs to create a mobile version of its product.
-
The Problem
It’s hard to keep track of all the products and services that we subscribe to each month. All we see is money deducted from our accounts for services that we might not even need or want anymore.
-
The Goal
The company wants to reach to a broader audience and create a mobile based app that manages subscriptions so users are aware of when and where their money is being spent.
user research.
All users try or have tried budgeting and felt overwhelmed
Subscriptions are mostly an ‘indulgence’ that is forgotten and results in ‘passive spending’
Users mostly struggle with forgetting the subscription they’ve made and a reminder would be helpful

usability testing.
1. the navigation steps needed to be clearer
2. too much on the home screen and it was overwhelming
3. toolbar, subscription break down, and ‘alert me’ was confusing
4. the app needs more space
changed the spacing of the text placement to create an easier user experience.
removed the calendar and made the CTAs more unified to each subscription

reflection.
I learnt extensively about creativity needed whilst working with constraints. This project also taught me the importance of reiteration and how much change can happen in one design.
