competitor research and collaboration.

To build a standout product, it was essential to understand the competitive landscape and identify areas where Spotwork could differentiate itself. We researched Wonolo, UpShift, Thumbtack, and Instawork analyzing their strengths, weaknesses, and unique selling points.

Collaborating with a diverse and talented team, we focused on getting up to speed with the app's current design language to ensure consistency across the platform. This included
- brand identity
- visual elements
- user experience principles

mapping.

To ensure our demo effectively showcases the key features and functions of Spotwork's live service we created detailed maps of core user flows and a comprehensive site map to gain a holistic understanding of the platform's architecture and interconnectivity

  • the maps enabled us to detect any potential bottlenecks or redundancies in the existing user flows

  • they helped us identify the most important aspects of the live service to be highlighted in the demo

future iterations.

These maps also provide a solid foundation for iterating on the platform's fundamental design, enabling the team to make informed decisions when
implementing new features like

  • refining the platform's overall structure

reflections.

Effective communication played a crucial role in our success, ensuring that we stayed on the same page throughout the process. We established regular check-ins, progress updates, and feedback sessions to maintain a cohesive and collaborative environment. This approach enabled us to address any challenges promptly, iterate on our designs, and refine the user experience.
